KINDERGARTEN STUDENT/GRADUATE

OUTLINE

  • Will be full day for all students.
  • Will allow kindergarten classes in the workplace.
  • Graduates will know their ABC'S and 123'S.
  • They will also know how to write the alphabet at some beginning level and also know how to read at some beginning level as well.

PARAGRAPH

This is really the first year of regular schooling for the kids. It will be full day intruction for the kids. They need all the instruction they can get. Full day instruction will include basic writing, reading and math skills that you can't get enough of in a non full day instruction class.

If the school district runs a kindergarten class inside of a workplace I have no problems with that. They must have total control over who gets hired, who get fired, class curriculum, how the classroom looks, and they will pay the kindergarten teachers salary. The school district will not have to pay for the space though.

This year is vital for them when it comes to learning and the more they can learn the better. School districts that do goto extended day or full day kindergarten have seen improvements in student performance.

Homework at the Kindergarten level is not going to be much. I would not like it more than a small reading assignment or two, a small number writing assignment and a small writing letters assignment per week. I would say that would come to be less than 1 hour a week of homework that I think is fair.
